About Deborah Armstrong

I didn't grow up knowing anything about money. I learned because I had to.

Deborah Armstrong, founder of Prosperity Club

At 36 years old I became a widow with four children. The youngest was 15 months old. The oldest was 8. There was no life insurance. No safety net. Just me figuring out how to keep the lights on and raise four kids at the same time.

That experience taught me something I never forgot: the decisions you make, or don’t make, about insurance and money determine what your options are when life falls apart. I didn’t have good options. I don’t want that for you.

So I educated myself. I went back to school and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance. I learned how to invest, how to read the markets, how to build wealth from scratch. My husband and I had invested in raw land together before he passed. After he was gone I made one group investment through a company that pooled multiple investors to fund builder projects. It returned around 10% a year, a solid return, but I had learned I could earn considerably more investing in securities on my own, so that is where I focused. I built a self-directed Roth IRA. I taught everything I learned to my now-grown children.

Then I became a licensed insurance agent, because insurance is the foundation everything else is built on. You can’t build wealth you aren’t protecting.

What I Bring to the Table

I am not just an insurance agent who reads product brochures. I have a finance degree, real investing experience, and 16 years working with National Write Your Congressman, interviewing everyday Americans about pending legislation and making sure their views got sent to Congress, whether they purchased the service or not. For those who wanted to stay informed and keep their voice in the process in real time, I offered them the research as a subscription service. That work gave me a front row seat to how policy decisions move through Washington and how they land on real people’s lives.

That perspective matters more than most people realize. The laws being passed right now, tax code changes, healthcare policy, small business regulations, are quietly deciding who gets ahead and who falls behind. Most financial educators ignore that entirely. I don’t.

I hold licenses to sell:

  • Life & Health insurance through Experior Financial Group
  • Property & Casualty insurance (including Cybersecurity) through First Connect
  • Legal protection plans through LegalShield

I work with both individuals and small businesses. Most of my professional background is business to business, so if you are a business owner trying to figure out what coverage you actually need, I speak that language.

Why Prosperity Club Exists

Prosperity Club is the platform I wish had existed when I was a broke widow trying to figure out how money works. The education here is free.

I cover investing basics, insurance explained in plain English, how social class and poverty affect financial outcomes, and how political decisions affect your wallet. My goal is to give you the information and the context to make smart decisions, and when you are ready to protect what you are building, I am here for that too.

I have been a welfare recipient. I have lived in the upper middle class. I have been everything in between. I know what this journey looks like from every angle.
